More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s Padstow Christmas Festival between December 5 and 8.
Organisers say the extravaganza will be the biggest to date and will be a unique celebration of great food, Christmas entertainment and live music.
Visitors can look forward to four days of the best Cornish food and drink, 28 world class chefs across two demonstration stages, 100 Cornish producers in the expanded Christmas market, Cornwall’s largest lantern parade and over 300 Father Christmases raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care in the annual fun run.
TV presenter and Seafood Restaurant over Rick Stein said: “The festival is now in its sixth year and its legacy continues to grow.
“Due to last year’s popularity we have added an extra day.
“We have also moved the main marquee to a larger location on the opposite side of the quay giving us room for a new chefs’ theatre, more stalls and a new seating area.
“We have an unbelievable line up of chefs from around the country and some really exciting plans including a head-to-head cook off between my good friend Brian Turner and ITV’s Phil Vickery, hosted by Fern Britton.”
Mr Stein will be on stage cooking dishes from his BBC India series and Tom Kerridge will be cooking items from his new BBC Two series Proper Pub Food.
The new expanded Christmas market will include over 100 local producers, selling jams, cheeses, and artisan charcuterie.
Emma Bebbington, general manager at festival sponsor Sharp’s Brewery, said: “The incredible food and drink on offer at Padstow Christmas Festival makes it an event that we all really look forward to.”
Family-friendly activities will be hosted across the four-day event.
Acrobats and dancers from Swamp Circus, the longest running contemporary circus in England, will be entertaining crowds on the streets.
Other festival highlights include live music, a lantern parade from local school children and a firework display.
