Celtic film festival seeks entries for 2013 awards
Film-makers and digital media producers are being invited to submit work for this year's Celtic Media Festival awards.
The festival celebrates the languages and cultures of the Celtic nations and regions on screen and in broadcasting, with awards for the best film, television, radio and digital media. The winners will be selected by an international jury and unveiled at the 34th Celtic Media Festival in Swansea next April.
The competitions are open to film-makers from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Brittany and Cornwall.
Festival chairman Dhomhnall Caimbeul said: "We are very pleased to be able to announce two new radio categories this year and will ensure that the festival in Swansea will be a much richer place for radio as a result.
"A new category for apps is an exciting development and will focus on apps in – or for learning – one of the Celtic languages. I am sure it will stimulate a lot of interest and foster co-operation across the Celtic nations and regions.
"There is a lot of talent to celebrate and we expect strong interest in these prestigious awards."
A total of 21 Torc Awards will be presented at next year's event. Entries should be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday October 30. For full details, visit: www.celticmedia festival.co.uk
