Chance to raise funds for your group on walk
IT'S time to pull out those hiking boots if you're involved in a community group which needs extra funds to pay rent, buy sports equipment or to pay for transport and other overheads.
On Sunday, September 29, the Rotary Ramble – Penwith's premier annual sponsored community walk – starts from Rosudgeon Sports and Social Club.
The circular routes of 4.4 or 7.3 miles gives walkers of all ages a two to three-hour walk down to the coast, around Prussia Cove and Cudden Point and to Perranuthnoe, or on towards Marazion for more ambitious participants.
Three quarters of the funds raised are retained by individual walkers or participating groups to pass directly to their own chosen cause.

The remaining quarter is collected for distribution to causes chosen by the Rotary Club of Penzance. This year the Penzance Rotary share will be passed to organisations including Penhaligon's Friends and Prostate Cancer UK.
More than £50,000 has been raised in previous years by the hundreds of participants from local groups and charities.
Register to take part in the Rotary Ramble as soon as possible to leave enough time to collect pledges of sponsorship. Sponsor cards for walkers are available for an entry fee of just £2 per head.
