Charities asked to contact Harmony Choir for grants from Christmas Eve collection
A LOCAL choir is offering grants to Falmouth charities and asking them to get in contact before Tuesday.
Harmony Choir, previously the Docks Choir, is offering the grant from money collected during its annual Christmas Eve performance.
This year will be the 114th annual performance for the choir, which will entertain Falmouth's shoppers with traditional Cornish carols.
The committee is asking local charities that would like to be considered for a grant to apply in writing before Tuesday. Honourable secretary Kevin Gerry said: "Please write to me stating who you are and what you would like to put the money towards.

"The committee will then select three charities, with the money being presented at a social evening that is open to all, at Falmouth Bowling Club on February 1.
"To qualify for a grant you must be a charity, based in Falmouth, or doing work for the benefit of the people of Falmouth. If you applied last year and were unsuccessful please feel free to apply again. If you would like to help us by becoming a collector, please contact me."
Choir members need to turn up at the Falmouth Watersports Centre from 9am on Christmas Eve and assemble for a practice at 10.15am.
