Charities to benefit from success of Megaride
Thousands of bikers attended the Plymouth Megaride – culminating in a spectacular display on the Hoe.
The meeting point at Lee Mill Industrial Estate, near Plymouth, was filled with scooters, Harley-Davidsons and many other motorcycles as nearly 5,000 keen riders from across the city and country came together on Sunday.
Richard and Sue Bounds organise the annual charity fundraising event, which has been running for 18 years.
Richard said: "It was a really successful day. The bikers filled the Hoe and the weather was good. We had a real mix of people here from all over the country which is really nice to see."

The Megaride was in aid of three local charities – Operation Henry, Drake Sailing and Devon Free Wheelers – as well as Macmillan Nurses.
Richard, chairman of the Plymouth Motorcycle Club, said: "We asked the club to choose which charities and we picked three smaller ones this year to help build them up. The recession has hit them hard, so hopefully we can help."
Over the 18 years the Plymouth Megaride has been running, Richard estimates more than £100,000 has been raised for the chosen charities.
Last year £7,000 was raised and Richard and Sue are hoping to beat that total this year, once the amount has been counted.
"I'd just like to thank all the bikers in Plymouth for supporting us, it was a fantastic day," said Richard.
