Charities reap rewards of 2013 Crantock Big Bale Push
FIVE charities and other local causes received their share of £6,900 raised at the 2013 Crantock Big Bale Push during a cheque presentation evening yesterday.
The event, which saw more than 100 teams heave a weighty straw bale around the village course, has now raised around £70,000 in its 14 year history.
Dozens of people packed into the Bowgie Inn to celebrate the on-going success of the quirky competition, which draws national and even international attention.
Benefiting this year, were the Multiple Sclerosis Mid Cornwall Branch (£1,250), Young People Cornwall (£1,250), Little Hearts Matter (£750), Newquay Coastguards Association (£1,250) and Ronal MacDonald House Bristol (£500).
