Charity Shop Cabaret comedy capers continue
AFTER a hugely successful summer tour, Cornwall's newest comedy group, Trifle Gathering Productions, will be setting up their charming mobile charity shop in a venue near you this autumn.
The
-

Charity Shop Cabaret
has rocked and rolled its way through the South West and this autumn is the last chance for you to join the jamboree.
The
Charity Shop Cabaret
is an exciting concoction of cutting edge theatre and surreal comedy. The show takes us on a hilarious journey into Elspeth Garter's charity shop – a welcoming world of rummage and romance, jumble and joy, bingo and the bizarre.
Not having had a customer for eight months, Elspeth and her trusty volunteers fill their days with high energy dance routines, titillating tea ceremonies and absurd frugal tips for frugal times – all set to the classic sounds of their vintage vinyl resident DJ.
It's honest, well-written and contains an experienced and inspired cast.
The Cornish audiences have been packing into cosy venues this summer and the show has attracted both the seasoned theatre-goer as well as the unseasoned "I'm not going anywhere when
X-Factor
is on television" crew.
In Cornwall there is nothing like this show and the company are hoping to partake on a national tour. The potential for the show's success was heightened when the
Charity Shop Cabaret
attracted the attention of True West's Nick Whitby – writer of award winning,
Smack The Pony
– who joined the team in early 2009 as a writer and co-director.
