Charity boost for lobster hatchery
THE charity Sea-Changers has donated £836 to Padstow's National Lobster Hatchery (NLH) to help with lobster-rearing costs.
This is the second year running that Sea-Changers has helped fund the work of the NLH, a charity whose aim is to conserve vulnerable lobster populations, preserve marine biodiversity and help safeguard the inshore fishing industry. Sea-Changers's mission is to raise money for marine conservation charities such as the NLH.
The donation will help fund vital components required to ensure healthy larval and juvenile lobsters.
Clare Stanley, business development officer for the NLH, said the charity faced a constant challenge to raise the funds required. "We are extremely grateful to Sea-Changers for its generous donation, which will help reduce the financial burden for this season."
