BIG bacon butties and cups of coffee have helped the committee of Trevone village hall raise £543 for Helston-based disaster relief charity ShelterBox.

One of the organisers, Richard Higman, said: "It is amazing how generous some people are.

"We are now going to hold bacon roll and coffee mornings on the first Sunday of each month between 10am and 12pm.

"The next one will be for village hall funds."
