Cheeky Camborne snapper pokes fun at town's Christmas tree
This photographer has poked fun at Camborne’s Christmas tree, taking a tongue-in-cheek look at the festive display.
Steve Heller, who lives in Camborne and runs record label boxheater records, has accompanied his photographs of the tree with a series of “comical” quotes.
One of his photographs suggested the tree is “a bit like your ex (girlfriend) looks better in the dark.”
Mr Heller, who works in Tesco, also “thanked Poundland for providing this years Christmas tree.”

But the cheeky Camborne man suggests it is all in the name of fun and he “actually likes the tree.”
He said: “The pictures are definitely not meant to cause anyone upset.
“I was in Camborne town running when I noticed the tree in the square.
“It was quite a surprise as I wan't expecting anything like what I saw. I instantly knew a photo on facebook would be popular as in the day the tree, at first glance, is very different from a traditional Christmas tree.
“So I stopped and took a few pictures, when an old aged man came up and said "a few of you will be having a laugh at those photos.
“I often post pictures about Cornwall the same as a lot of people. I think the banter between the two towns is tradition that is linked to the Redruth versus Camborne rugby match every Boxing day.”
The photographs have circulated on social media website facebook. The pictures have wracked up hundreds of likes and people have taken to sharing the snaps across the internet.
But they have been met with mixed reaction.
Emma Nankervis said: “Think half of Camborne should put their money where the mouth is...be thankfull if only for the kids.”
Mary Pat Kirkham said about the photographs: “If you think you can do better buy the town one yourself.”
