Choristers settle in for their cushion concert
THIS week, the choristers will perform at their annual cushion concert, which is free of charge, supported by the West Briton, open to all families and especially children. It takes place in the cathedral on Saturday from 2.30pm until 3.30pm. There are no tickets available in advance and all are welcome.
Head chorister Billy Lee, age 13, who lives in Truro, writes: "The cushion concert is always quite casual. We sing to lots of children who sit in front of us while their parents sit further back in the cathedral.

It's always quite casual – cathedral chorister Billy Lee.
"One of the things I like about the cushion concert is that instead of adults introducing the songs, we choristers introduce them and tell the children what the words mean and why we enjoy singing them.
"I'm the oldest chorister and this will be my fourth (and final) cushion concert! This year, we are singing some of my favourite songs including For The Beauty Of The Earth by Rutter, This Little Babe by Britten and, most of all, one of my new favourites Can You Feel The Love Tonight from the Lion King. At the end we invite all the children up to learn a new song with us."
