Christian B&B couple in legal first for a court in England
Court artist Priscilla Coleman outside the Supreme Court yesterday, after her brush with legal history. The artist, who specialises in illustrating scenes for the media, was the first ever to be allowed to sketch inside an English courtroom during the appeal hearing of Cornish B&B owners Peter and Hazelmary Bull. Contempt of court rules prevent photographs being taken during hearings and stop artists making illustrations for publication. They are only allowed to make notes and must draw outside. But justices gave Mrs Coleman permission to draw inside the highest court in the UK, making her the first to draw a picture intended for publication during a hearing in an English court since contempt rules came into force nearly 90 years ago.
