'Chronic' parking situation in street
A "CHRONIC" situation exists in Hugh Town's main street on St Mary's, after vehicles have been stationed there for months because of a breakdown in applying parking restrictions.
Drivers at one end have to ensure a clear "home run" before starting, for fear of meeting a vehicle in an unpassable space coming the other way.
It was suggested at a recent meeting of the general purposes committee that enforcement could be put in place with the use of yellow lines in the area.
Councillor Steve Sims pledged things were "moving ahead" on the matter, while director of place Craig Dryden said the upcoming road resurfacing "provides an opportunity to renew and review road markings".
