Church's partners in prayer display their true colours
A PENWITH church has equipped its congregation in hi-visibility jackets in the hope that more townsfolk and villagers will be able to find God.
The Vine Church of St Ives have launched the initiative, Prayer Partners, which will see followers pounding the pavement wearing the distinctive yellow singlets.
And the move coincides with the launch of a range of unique ways to reach the Almighty.
Pastor Chris Wallis says he wants members to take 'what happens in the church building out onto the streets just like Jesus did'.
Supporters will be patrolling villages surrounding St Ives from October, as well as Carbis Bay, Penbeagle, Hayle, Nancledra and Lelant.
Either alone or in pairs they will be praying for the community, services, business and are even taking requests.
The public are encouraged to approach members and ask for prayer or, alternatively, telephone a prayer request to their 0845 634 1868 number. Postal prayers can be sent on a Freepost prayer request card available from the Prayer Partner, or emailed to thevinestives@googlemail.com.
Pastor Wallis said: "As a church we believe in the power of prayer - whatever your need, God has an answer.
"The Prayer Partners have all experienced God's incredible love and answers to their prayers."
