Cliff fire burns through the night, near St Austell
Fire fighters are unable to reach a gorse fire on a cliff, near St Austell, which has been burning for more than 24 hours.
Concerned residents reported seeing flames at Black Head cliff, which overlooks St Austell Bay, at around 5pm yesterday afternoon.
A representative from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “Several calls were received to a fire on the cliff at Black Head.
“One fire appliance from St Austell Community Fire Station is in attendance and the fire crew are allowing the fire to burn to a natural break, due to its difficult location.”
