Climber injured after falling from cliff
A CLIMBER has been airlifted to hospital after falling from cliffs in west Cornwall.
The man, aged in his forties, dropped around ten foot after slipping while on cliffs near Sennen Cove.
Local coastguard crews descended on the scene just after 3pm today. They decided to airlift him to safety from the cliffs after becoming concerned that a heavy swell from the waves below could reach him before emergency crews made it down the rock face.
A helicopter from RNAS Culdrose rescued the man, believed to have been equipped with climbing gear and part of a team scaling the cliffs, before flying him to Royal Cornwall Hospital for treatment.
