NATIONAL clothing store Peacocks officially opened its new store in Newquay on Thursday.

Having spent months converting the former Woolworths building in Bank Street, Peacocks staff cut the ribbon to mark its opening this week.

The new store has seen 29 jobs created. Store manager, Natalie Colley said: "We're delighted to be opening our new store in Newquay, offering customers the latest looks at great value. With fashion changing so quickly it can be a challenge to keep on top, but with over 30 new lines landing in our new store each week it should be easier for customers to step out in the latest fashion and not break the bank."

Peacocks has taken half the Bank Street building, sitting next door to Poundland, which opened last month.
