Clubs hit target for V-scanner buy
LOCAL Lions' clubs raised more than £5,000 for an innovative piece of medical equipment.
Lions' zone chairman John Cardew challenged the clubs in Truro, Falmouth, Hayle and Camborne/Redruth to raise enough money to buy a V-scanner.
The pocket-size diagnostic scanning device can be used to assess patients quickly at admission. A V-scanner enables an immediate full cardiovascular echo examination when ultrasound systems are not available.
The clubs raised £5,200 by staging a golf tournament, a darts' marathon and street and in-store collections.
