A 25-year-old surfer broke his leg yesterday in the water at Harlyn Bay.

Falmouth Coastguard received a call at around noon on Saturday requesting assistance getting the casualty into an ambulance.

The man's friends had managed to get him up the beach but more help was needed to manoeuvre him into the vehicle.

The Padstow Coastguard Team was dispatched and the surfer was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske for treatment.
