Colourful shirt Cornwall councillor Eddie Price dies after surgery

Tributes have been paid to a Cornish councillor who died while recovering from a major operation at Treliske.

Eddie Price, who was known for his colourful shirts and a familiar face throughout St Agnes, passed away in the early hours of Sunday. He leaves a widow, Jenny, a daughter and grandchild.

Longstanding friend and colleague Gerry Jones described Mr Price as a "stunning man" and one who will be greatly missed.

Mr Jones said of the retired film technician : "He was a doer and was known for his colourful shirts. Visitors would often give him shirts that they'd seen on their travels, he had quite a few. I think his remembrance is likely to be a colourful affair."

Mr Price had been admitted to Royal Cornwall Hospital for a hip operation on December 27. Mr Jones said that while the operation had been a success, Mr Price suffered complications and died of a heart attack.
