Colwell's early goal sets Town up for win

BODMIN Town did what they had to do on Wednesday night as they cruised to three points against managerless Liskeard at a cold and wet Lux Park.
Steve Colwell set them on their way to victory with a fifth minute strike and Chris Luxton made it 2-0 a minute before the break after being played through by strike partner Glynn Hobbs.
Olly Brokenshire made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute with a low left foot drive from 15 yards, and Hobbs completed the scoring seven minutes from time.

The result lifted Bodmin back up to second place in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League, two points behind leaders Launceston with four games in hand.
Dominated
Bodmin totally dominated possession but they were not at their incisive best or they could have doubled their goals tally.
Liskeard, whose manager Martin Burgess resigned after Saturday's 3-0 home defeat by Witheridge, decided on a damage limitation exercise against the champions and tried to starve Bodmin of space on the edge of the penalty area.
They enjoyed relative success, they were well organised and defended well to a point, but were rarely a threat going forward.
It was something of a surprise that the match survived Tuesday night's rain deluge. Credit to the Liskeard groundsman for providing such a good playing surface which only became tricky in the late stages of the game when more rain arrived.
