Community spirit shines through
THE 29th staging of the Buntabout surfing event at St Agnes and Chapel Porth again proved a great success.
Held over two successive Saturdays at St Agnes and Chapel Porth, a total of around 100 surfers of all ages enjoyed some fantastic 3ft to 4ft surf with light cross shore winds and excellent shaped waves.
The event was started by organiser Stephen Bunt to provide competitive surfing mainly for surfers from the TR5 postcode.
And since then it has grown and grown.
He said: "Once again it proved a really fantastic event. As someone said to me where else would you find such a marvellous community spirit with everyone coming together."
Around £600 was raised for the Precious Lives Appeal.
He thanked the event's sponsors: Best Ever, Aggie surf shop; C skins; Rusty; Vans, Lightning Bolt; Skinner's Ale; Coastal Surf; Driftwood Spars; Animal; Rip Curl; Finisterre; Carve and Malt Designs
