Cornish Pirates let slip big lead as they go down at Rotherham
Rotherham Titans 35 Cornish Pirates 30
The Cornish Pirates were left with just a losing bonus point to show for an afternoon of toil in South Yorkshire as Rotherham Titans stormed back to win a Greene King Championship classic at Clifton Lane, by Dick Straughan.
Following an early exchange of penalties between Craig Holland and Juan Pablo Socino the Pirates went back in front as Holland stole an interception on halfway and outpaced Curtis Wilson to score in the corner.
Holland converted his own try and minutes later was on hand to do the same after Alex Dancer created a superb try for Tom Riley.

Tom Kessell then crossed to make it three tries in ten minutes and the Pirates led 24-3 leaving the Titans stunned.
But two Rotherham tries just before the interval, the first from Lawrence Pierce and the second from Jack Roberts, shifted the momentum of the game and at 24-15 the home side were back in it.
Hooker Ben Sowery crashed over for their third try three minutes in to the second half and a controversial fourth followed soon after from wing Mike Keating as the officials appeared to ignore a forward scoring pass.
Suddenly Rotherham led 29-24 and the final quarter was a tense affair as Holland and Socino both traded penalties with the Pirates determined not to go home empty handed.
Rotherham doggedly held on and as they keep up the pursuit of London Welsh the Pirates are still adrift outside the play-off zone.
