Cornish Pirates travel in strength for season opener in Jersey
The Cornish Pirates have named a strong travelling squad for their season opener in the RFU Championship away to Jersey tomorrow (3pm).
There had been several injury concerns following last weekend's win over Newport in their final pre-season warm-up match but only long-term injury victims Chris Morgan, Wes Davies, Adam Clayton, Jonny Bentley and Laurie McGlone miss out.
None of the dual-registered Exeter Chiefs contingent are available in the side which will be led by Gavin Cattle but Grant Pointer, Junior Fatialofa and Matt Evans have all recovered from knocks to take their place in a strong set of backs.
Up front Paul Andrew gets the nod at loosehead prop over Alan Paver, who is on the bench, whilst Darren Barry and Gary Johnson will run operations in the second row.
