Football in Cornwall has suffered a virtual wash out as the continuing heavy rain ruined the day's programme.

All the scheduled Carlsberg South West Peninsula League games were called off,  as were the entire Jolly's Combination League and Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier League fixtures.

The county's junior programme has also been badly hit.

Rugby has not escaped either with Camborne's and Wadebridge Camels'  games at  Sidmouth and Thornbury respectively both off.

In Western Counties West, leaders' St Austell's home game against Devonport Services, Truro's home match against Torquay Ath  and Penryn v Exeter Saracens were also all  off.

In the Cornwall and Devon League the Pirates Amateurs have had to call off their home game against OPMS.

Supporters are advised to check that other matches are still on with home clubs before travelling to games.
