Cornish hotel drives guests from Exeter to beat rail crisis
A CORNISH luxury hotel has come up with a way of getting its customers to the coast despite the damage to the rail link at Dawlish.
The Nare Hotel is sending cars to pick up guests directly from Exeter St Davids railway station and bring them 90 miles to the idyllic location on the Roseland.
Hotel owner Toby Ashworth said the Nare was always happy to go the extra mile in the interest of customer service.
The hotel has gone through all of its bookings over the next six weeks and contacted guests to let them know about the service - on offer at £50 a passenger or less if there are more than two guests.

“It’s a good bit of Cornish pro-active thinking,” said Mr Ashworth.
The plan to pick up guests from Exeter is an extension of an existing scheme whereby the Nare will drive anywhere in the UK to bring guests to the hotel in a Range Rover.
Mr Ashworth said the pick-up scheme had helped to avoid any serious impact from the storms and damage to the rail link.
He said: “We’ve managed it quite successfully by putting this in place. We have said, don’t worry, here is a solution and we’re open for business.”
