Cornish musicians invited to showcase to industry
Cornwall has long been a retreat for successful music industry types looking for a place to spend the fruits of their labours.
Ironically, aspiring Cornish musicians seeking success will inevitably be forced to move away from their homeland to be 'nearer' to the industry.

The Cornish Music Forum helps to bridge that geographical gap, by giving local songwriters and musicians a chance to engage with industry professionals, based here in Cornwall, to glean knowledge and ideas first hand.
The next event is taking place as part of this years' Music Truro Festival, which is organised by Totally Truro, at Bunters Bar on Friday, October 19 starting at 5:30pm.

Bands, musicians and songwriters are invited to come along and pick the brains of music industry experts.
Panel chairman, Rick Rogers, former head of 2Tone records turned lecturer at University College Falmouth said "Events like these are invaluable for anyone who wants to forge a career in the music industry.
"This isn't the X-Factor, it's about getting advice on everything from song craft and musicianship through to promotion and dealing with the media."
Rick over the years has managed some of the worlds best known bands including The Specials, The Damned and nineties Scottish shoegazers The Soup Dragons.
He says the business of making music is different these days.
"The industry has definitely changed.
"It's not as simple as it used to be, there is less money around in and artists that understand the commercial side more will fair far better."
The event is open to anyone from Cornwall interested in the music industry and musicians are invited to bring any demos along on cd for the panel to give constructive feedback on.
Immediately following the Cornwall Music Forum event Bunters will host the now traditional John Peel Night featuring a wealth of Cornwall's brightest and best acts.
