Cornishman's reaction to winning £1million on a scratchcard
THE AUDIO clip below records the moment a gardener from Roche got the confirmation that he had won £1million on a scratchcard.
Lee Orchard bought the £5 card on a whim from his village’s Co-op store with cash from a previous lottery win, as he headed to work on March 7 this year.
Camelot UK Lotteries Ltd has just released the audio clip of his excited call to their hotline to confirm his win.
“It’s a dream come true,” said the 30-year-old shortly after his win.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when it came up as a £1 million win. I went back into the shop to ask them to check it for me, and I was told to contact Camelot as the prize was too big to pay out.”
His wife Laura, a spa beautician, said she didn’t believe her husband’s news.
“Originally he told me he’d won £1,000. ‘Oh, you haven’t’, I said and then he said, ‘I didn’t really; I’ve won a million’.”
The Orchards, who have a son and a daughter, Riley, 3, and Frankie, 8 months, plan to buy a house to replace their two-bedroom rented property in the Clay Country with somewhere bigger and “rural” close to Indian Queens or St Columb, where Mr Orchard grew up.
“We didn’t really want the children to have to share a bedroom when they got older,” he said.
They will also trade in their old car for a reliable family vehicle, share some with close relations and invest the rest for Riley and Frankie’s futures, as well as a trip to Disneyland when the children are a bit older.
