Cornwall Council refuses plans for a Premier Inn in Falmouth

A controversial scheme to build a 74-bedroom Premier Inn in Falmouth have been turned down by Cornwall Council's strategic planning committee today.

It had been recommended for approval by the case officer, but members of the committee disagreed and voted to refuse the application from New Cornwall Developments.

The application, for a car park site at Cambeltown Way, next to Discovery Quay, had received more than 200 objections.
