The two set up a computer training centre in Manaccan in the mid-1990s.

She said: "I was very sorry to hear the news. This will be a great shock to everyone."

“I am hugely sorry to hear this. Pam was one of the very few Cornwall Councillors worth her position. And well worth it, too. She represented Cornwall's people, and not just those of her own ward. She did not represent Dukes and eternal developers.

Farewell, Pam, and thank you for your long and dedicated service.”

“She will be sadly missed - a robust and challenging character who could strike fear into officers and councillors alike when she turned her attention to them. I only had the pleasure of knowing her for 3 years but in that time we enjoyed many great times and enjoyed robust debates and, whether we agreed or disagreed, we always parted with a smile. A great servant to her community”

“There must be many others like myself who only knew Pam Lyne by sight at Lys Kernow, she invariably came across as a feisty free thinking truly independent Councillor respected by everyone, a salt of the Earth kind of Lady who served her electorate long and well, who Cornwall can so ill afford to lose in these difficult dangerous times RIP.”

“How sad. A Lady who has given so much. My thought's go out to her Family at this tragic time.”
