Cornwall flooding latest - 01.00
Cornwall continues to suffer from severe flooding with properties in Newlyn, Polperro, Millbrook and Helston under threat.
Cornwall Council has confirmed that a rest centre has been opened at St John's Hall in Penzance for people in Newlyn who have been unable to get to their homes across the flood water which is affecting the area. At present no-one is there but local people are being told that it is open and available.
There are concerns about the situation in Lostwithiel where the river levels are still rising. There is no flooding yet but the EA are monitoring the situation very closely and all agencies are ready to take immediate action if required. Resources are being sent there as a precaution.
