Double the limit driver banned
A SECOND-TIME drink-driver from Newlyn was taken off the road for 20 months at Truro Magistrates' Court.
Stanley Fenton, 57, of Orchard Place, pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Newlyn on October 1 when his reading was 78mcg alcohol in breath, more than twice the legal limit.
Alison May, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said police followed Fenton's car at 5pm and saw it veering across the central line before it pulled up. They noticed he had a ruddy complexion and was smelling of drink, and he failed their roadside screening test. He had a previous similar conviction in 1999.
Deborah Von Kohler, for the defence, said Fenton deeply regretted finding himself in court that day.
