BUDE Town produced the shock of the round to knock Peninsula League outfit Callington Town out of the competition.

The East Cornwall Premier League leaders clinched their place in the next round thanks to a brace apiece from Gary Hodgson and Dan Starkey, with Dave Youlden also on target.

Starkey claimed the goal of the game when his superb overhead kick beat the Penryn keeper.

Having been stunned by the hosts, who led 5-0, Callington pulled a couple of goals back through Paul McAdam and a Ryan Lucassi penalty.

Penryn Athletic and Dobwalls played out a nine-goal thriller as the latter made their way into the next round with a 5-4 win against the Charity Cup holders at Kernick.

Paul Andrews' men had fallen behind to a Dale Band penalty, but they responded well, equalising through Martyn Hake before half-time.

Penryn regained the lead through Ollie Moody, but it was Hake's second goal that sent the game into extra-time.

Ben Gascoigne then netted to give Dobwalls the lead, before Penryn levelled through Matt McIlroy.

Hake then claimed his hat-trick to put Dobwalls 4-3 up, but the hosts fought back again through Ryan Reeve.

And Hake completed a dramatic win in injury time when he scored from the penalty spot.

Foxhole Stars were sent crashing out of the Charity Cup after losing 6-0 at Perranporth.

Josh Burton was the star of the show as he fired in four of Perranporth's goals at Ponsmere Valley.

Foxhole were trailing after seven minutes when Burton drove the ball in from the edge of the area.

It wasn't until early in the second half that Perranporth scored a second, Burton firing home after Sean Hicks' initial save.

Bryan Hawke added to Perranporth's tally, before Ed Wilton and two more from Burton completed the rout.

In the day's other first round tie, Truro City lost 8-7 on penalties to Combination League side St Ives Town after the game finished 2-2 after extra-time.
