A helicopter from Devon Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene because Cornwall’s helicopter was already transporting a patient with serious injuries from Tintagel to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
A Royal Navy search and rescue helicopter based at Culdrose was also sent because it was difficult to reach the cyclist.
The man died at the scene and his death is not being treated as suspicious, said a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman.
