A dog has been put down after attacking a woman in Mylor yesterday evening.

The 19-year-old had approached the female tan Staffordshire Bull Terrier after seeing it in the road and was concerned for its welfare.

But police say the dog then bit her and continued to try and attack even after the woman had managed to get back in her car.

She was taken to hospital where she had surgery on her leg.

“I agree I also think that we should do the same to out of control kids...or do we just shoot the parents ?”

“I'm sorry, but I just have to LOL at myself...

Saw the headline about Dangerous Dog Attack, and next to it a picture of a cute little puppy sat calmly next to a cat.

Put 2 and 2 together and got 5. Must be one mean puppy.”

“Yet another case of unruly dogs running loose. A similar case also happened in Crantock where a cow was attacked by two uncontrolled dogs. When are these moronic owners going to see sense and keep the wretched things on a leash. Huge fines on owners and destruction of the dogs are the only way forward. The normal public do not need this problem caused by an irresponsible idiot minority. This country appears to be overrun by dogs and it's about time they were put under stricter control. Licensing is a waste of time, all dogs should be chipped and any found without, destroyed despite what their obsessive owners say.”

“I'm surprised that there haven't been any comments from the idiotic owners of these killing machines. There again, its still early.

It would be a good idea if the injection to put these animals down was shared with the dog owners.

I hope the lady concerned is ok.”

“If all pets were neutered (pets should not be used as breeding machines to make money) and chipped them most events like this would not happen and even if they did the owner could easily be traced.”
