Dealership gives car to charity
A CAR dealership near Truro has given a car to a stroke and acquired brain injury charity to help it to reach a wider range of patients.
Town and Country Motors gave charity Wired Cornwall a Nissan Note last month for the transportation of patients to and from a specialist rehabilitation centre in Allet, just outside Truro.
The charity, which provides conventional and alternative therapies to people in Cornwall who have suffered stroke and brain injuries, said the car would enable it to transport more people from a wider area to its specialist centre.
Dr Liz Barnes, clinical director of Wired Cornwall, said: "On behalf of all of us at Wired Cornwall, I would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Town and Country Motors for its amazing generosity in providing us with a car in order for volunteers to be able to pick up and deliver back the patients so that they can access the centre.

"This is absolutely wonderful for us as when people suffer a stroke or acquired brain injury, some are unable to drive again or afford an adapted vehicle. Thank you so much for the support which will make a big difference to the patients and carers."
Wired Cornwall is run as a community interest group and helps more than 100 patients each week.
