Deli Farm Charcuterie is Great Taste Awards winner
Deli Farm Charcuterie are proud to announce they are one of many Great Taste Awards Winners; they have been awarded a further two ** Star Gold Awards to add to their ever expanding range!
It was announced last Friday 15th July that Deli Farm’s Venison Bresaola and Oak Smoked Paprika Salami had both won ** Gold Awards.
The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, are now in their 18th year and going from strength to strength. 7481 products were entered from 1600 companies for the 2011 Great Taste Awards. It took 350 experts 34 days to blind taste all the entries and decide which entries would achieve the coveted one, two and three star gold awards.
The Great Taste Awards judging standards, devised by the Guild of Fine Food, are the most rigorous in the UK. To achieve the 3-star rating a minimum of 20 -more often 30 - judges need to be in complete agreement that the food delivered that indefinable ‘wow’ factor

The team are thrilled that the Venison Bresaola won an award so soon; it was only launched in February 2011.
Experiments took place in 2010, curing smaller pieces of Venison which proved extremely popular; an easy decision to produce more.
As soon as the Venison season begun the team received larger joints of meat, all shot on local Cornish Estates.
The meat is freshly cut and presented from a local farm butchery unit, ensuring traceability from start to finish. The joints were then cured and Air Dried and are now available as a ‘whole’ joint or sold in sliced packs (50g, 100g or 200g).
Many Farm Shops, Delicatessens and Restaurants throughout the South of England have been purchasing the Venison Bresaola where they have received fantastic reviews, complementing on the colour, texture and taste.
The Oak Smoked Paprika Salami has been a product for some years however recognised this year as a British alternative to the Italian Chorizo.
Judge’s comments included: “This is a truly delicious salami which is both sweet and spicy. The meat is dense and chewy but without the resistance of poorer quality products. There is a lovely smokey note and the colour is very appealing. We liked this very much indeed”.
