THE opening of Poundland in Penzance has been put back a day – from today until tomorrow.

Europe's largest single price discount retailer, Poundland will be opening its doors in the former Woolworth's building in Market Jew Street, creating 23 new jobs in the process.

And on Saturday, Coronations Street's 'Sean' aka Antony Cotton, will launch a family fun day at the store, giving out 50 £1 vouchers, which shoppers can exchange for anything from a pair of sunglasses to Walkers crisps or from DIY tools to a football.
