Dominant Bodmin sweep aside high-riding Tavistock
Bodmin Town produced one of their most impressive displays of the season on Saturday as they swept aside in-form Tavistock at Priory Park.
Darren Gilbert's side triumphed 4-1 in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League premier division clash but it would have been at least double that had it not been for a man of the match performance from Tavistock goalkeeper Andy Meeds.
Bodmin, leading 3-1 at the halfway point, completely dominated the second half and at times it seemed Meeds was all that stood between Tavistock and a very heavy defeat.
He pulled off a string of excellent saves to deny Adam Carter, Olly Brokenshire and Shane Krac, while Brokenshire and Sam Matthews were guilty of missing chances inside the six yard box as Bodmin's relentless pressure produced a hatful of opportunities.

Krac had given Bodmin the perfect start with a fourth minute goal and even after Dave Hallett equalised for the visitors in the 38th minute, Bodmin restored their lead within a minute through Carter and just before the break Matthews made it 3-1.
Krac, having another inspirational performance in the centre of midfield, completed the scoring in the 65th minute by starting and finishing a move which saw him swapping passes with Carter.
That goal came only two minutes after Bodmin had introduced new signing Glyn Hobbs in place of Chris Luxton. Hobbs, in his second spell with Bodmin and playing against the team he left last month, almost marked his debut with a goal, his 25 yard thunderbolt clearing the bar by inches.
Launceston stay top of the table despite losing 3-2 at home to Plymouth Parkway, who have only played three league games so far.
Camelford were 3-0 winners over Liskeard Athletic at Trefrew Road, while St Austell, missing their regular strike force, were held to a goalless draw by Witheridge at Poltair Park.
The game between Falmouth Town and Elburton Villa was abandoned after 75 minutes with Falmouth leading 2-1. Falmouth player Rob Wearne suffered a head injury in a collision with Villa goalkeeper Simon May and was taken to hospital, with manager Alan Carey describing his condition as 'very poorly'.
