The presentation was made at Heartlands, where music therapists described their work and demonstrated some of the instruments they use.
Mr Burden said: "The support of Cornwall Music Therapy Trust is allowing music therapy to be provided in a much greater range of settings, including children out of school, those in hospital and those with mental health problems and is also increasing the viability of a very highly regarded service."

Since it was set up in November, 2006, the trust has made grants to Music Therapy Cornwall of £142,000 and has just committed a further £35,000 for work with groups ranging from veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome to school leavers with severe learning difficulties facing the challenging transfer to post-16 placements.
Ms Alderman said: "The trust is very grateful to the many organisations and individuals who are supporting our work, including the Rank Foundation, the Duchy Health Charity, the Golowan Festival, St Enodoc Golf Club, the Claire Milne Trust and Truro 3Arts.
"Without their support and encouragement we could not achieve nearly so much."
