Dramatic collapse leads to Bridgers' first defeat

Troon 237-7 Wadebridge 104

WADEBRIDGE went down to their first defeat of the season after a disappointing performance at Treslothan Road. Troon took control with the bat as Ian Goldsworthy and Tom Rowe (39) put on 83 for the first wicket. Goldsworthy and Dan Jenkin (26) then put on 107. Goldsworthy went on to make 109.

Former Pencarrow player Charlie Ellis took four for 27. Troon skipper Steve Eddy struck twice but it was Gavin Tregenza that swept the home team to an early victory as six wickets fell for 13 runs. He returned superb figures of 7-5-8-5. After Joe Skinner hit 23, Wadebridge skipper Neil Richards made an unbeaten 29.

Gorran 228, Menheniot Looe 157

AFTER the early loss of James Carter Gorran rallied with Matthew House (40) and Elliott Bamber-Jones (32) helping to get the total to 129 before the loss of the fourth wicket.

The rest of the innings was steadied by Andrew Grant, on his debut having made the move from Truro. He hit 56 not out as the innings ended in the penultimate over.

After losing Peter Nance the visitors were going well with Mark Grassam making 56 and Chris Davies 29. Mike Maiden made 25 but the innings collapsed to 157 all out in the 47th over. Rhys Daniel and Harrison Bamber-Jones took three wickets each.

Roche 131, Launceston 135-4

ROCHE are still looking for their first win after this six wicket defeat at Lawhitton. Alex Pearce made 29 after Adam Trudgeon hit 20, Neil Trudgeon 18 and Jamie Trudgeon 14 at the top of the order.

Graham Garrett took three for 34. Garrett then hit an unbeaten 63 to steer the home side home. He got good support from Ian Searle with 22 and Kevin Worth with 16. Jamie Trudgeon took two for 28 with a wicket apiece for Clive and Ben Libby.

Falmouth II 169-9, Luckett 93

FALMOUTH seconds recorded their first win with this 76-run success at Trescobeas.

The home side, batting first, got off to a good start with Lewis Jenkins making 34 and skipper Harry Roberts hitting 28. The visitors were well served by John Schuttkacker, who took three for 45 with Andrew Brenton and Mark Southcott taking a couple of wickets each.

Luckett's openers Adrian Robins and Brenton got to double figures but from thereon the innings collapsed with only Southcott making a valiant 26 at the end.

Tom Retallack took three for six and Jeff Carvelly three for 19.
