Drink-driver disqualified
TOO much to drink at a dinner party led a driver to get behind the wheel when he was over the legal alcohol limit.
Timothy Tregear was stopped by police and failed a breath test after being seen driving erratically on the night of February 6.
At Truro Magistrates' Court, Tregear, 24, of Lower Ventongimps Farm, Callestick, Truro, pleaded guilty to driving with 79mcg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath, more than twice the permitted level of 35mcg.
Rob Warner, mitigating, said that Tregear, who has no previous convictions, had drunk too much at the dinner and was on his way home. He had made a mistake for which he was very apologetic and said the magistrates would not see him before them again.
Tregear was fined £250 with £100 costs and surcharge and banned from driving for 18 months.
