Driver, 23, dies after car rolls down bank

A 23-year-old man has died in hospital after his car careered off the A30 and down an embankment near Exeter. James William Hedges, from the Southway area of Plymouth, was fatally injured in the accident on the eastbound carriageway at Tedburn St Mary at about 5.30pm on Sunday. His Peugeot 106 left the road and came to rest down a steep bank. No other vehicles were involved. Mr Hedges was rushed to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth but died of his injuries yesterday morning.
