A DRIVER smashed through the shop window of Boots chemist in Porthleven.

A red Citroën Saxo ended up inside the store on Fore Street at about 2am on Saturday.

A 20-year-old woman from Helston was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving.

She was treated for minor cuts and bruises and released on bail to appear at Camborne Police Station on April 25.

Boots' manager David Smith said: "The car took out most of the front windows and destroyed the doors. Our emergency team boarded up the shopfront so that we could begin trading as normal on Monday.

"Our prime concern was opening the pharmacy so that we could continue administering medicines."
