Driver "flees scene" after car became airborne and smashed into six vehicles near Redruth
POLICE are investigating after the driver of a vehicle that had mounted a kerb, became airborne and smashed into half a dozen parked cars, fled the scene near Redruth.
Police were called to the collision on Lanner Hill at around 9.55pm on Thursday December 12.
On arrival it was found that a green Volkswagon Golf travelling towards Redruth had mounted the pavement just past Lanner Square, became airborne and struck two parked cars at windscreen height causing extensive damage.
The Volkswagon then travelled along the top of a wall before crossing to the other side of the road and smashing into a parked car there, pushing it into several other vehicles.

A total of seven cars were damaged in the collision.
Witnesses report three males exiting the golf and walking away.
When challenged they made off down Lanner Hill and disappeared in the vicinity of the church.
Enquiries are ongoing and any information can be passed to MPC Davey at Camborne Traffic Centre via the 101 number.
