Temporary traffic lights had to be set up to control traffic after a car drove into an electricity pylon. Two households in Saltash, East Cornwall, lost power after a vehicle collided with the pylon on Callington Road on Wednesday. The road was initially closed at Fore Street, and Western Power Distribution had to shut off electricity to 27 more homes for ten minutes to allow them to deal with the problem. Police said traffic faced disruption as a result of the accident. The driver suffered minor injuries.
