A POLISH goods vehicle driver has been charged with a number of serious tachograph offences following a roadside check on the A30 at Fraddon.

Piotr Pawel Wojcik from Lesna was stopped on Tuesdayduring a joint operation by police and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA).

The 51-year-old's vehicle and records of work were examined and as a result he was arrested and detained at Camborne Police Station.

Following interview, he was charged with using a forged drivers card, failing to take sufficient daily rest, dangerous driving and using a magnet to falsify, alter, destruct or suppress data storage.

He was then bailed to appear before Cornwall Magistrates Court on November 29.
