Duncan's late show frustrates Hurlers
LUDGVAN'S pursuit of league leaders St Day suffered a setback on Saturday after the Hurlers were held to a 1-1 draw at local rivals St Ives Town.
Both goals came in the final 10 minutes with Gerens James giving the visitors the lead from the penalty spot for his 32nd league goal of the campaign. It wasn't enough to secure the three points, however, as the Saints claimed a share of the spoils courtesy of Ross Duncan's free kick two minutes from time.
The Hurlers now trail St Day by five points after the Saints ran out 6-1 winners in a local derby at Redruth United.
Veteran marksman Dominic Pullen bagged a hat-trick for the visitors, whose other goals came from Gavin Boon, Jordan Adlard and Jason Robertson. Joe Ashton notched a late consolation for the Reds.

Another local derby saw Wendron consolidate third place with a 2-0 home win over Porthleven. Jason Roberts gave the hosts a 20th minute lead, but it wasn't until 20 minutes from time that Wendron finally secured the points when Luke Wort followed up to score after seeing his spot kick saved by the Port keeper.
St Just are level on 28 points with both Ludgvan and Wendron after Saturday's 6-1 home victory over Penryn. Jack Willis scored a brace for the Tinners with Neil Curnow (penalty), Graham Stirr, Darren Steadman and Darren Ball getting the others. Sam Bromley replied for a well-beaten Penryn.
Falmouth Town were beaten 3-1 at home by St Agnes, whose goals came from Duane Britten and Mike Burn. Joe Perrin scored for the hosts who remain sixth in the table, albeit with may of the sides immediately below them having several games in hand.
Alan Thomas bagged a hat-trick for Mullion in a big 6-1 home win over Troon, with Dan Jenkin (2) and Joe Lugg also finding the net. Troon's solitary strike came from Liam Lyth.
Elsewhere, Perranwell won 4-0 at Goonhavern with goals from Sameer Dhumale, Luke Brabyn, Tom Dunstan and Ben Manley, while a Lee Martin goal was enough to give RNAS Culdrose a narrow 1-0 home win over visiting Hayle. Meanwhile, Falmouth Athletic notched only their third league win of the season as two goals from Jack Foote and one from Joe Benney gave them a 3-1 home victory over Newquay, who had Hayden Turner on target.
