Dynamo Choughs help save Scilly team's mainland tour
A LAST-MINUTE programme change gave 18 Isles of Scilly footballers a two-match annual Cornish tour as planned.
On Saturday they played a 4-4 drawn affair against the extravagantly-monickered Penzance team Dynamo Choughs on an artificial surface at Mounts Bay Academy.

Scilly's touring football team with members of the Dynamo Choughs, from Penzance, during their annual weekend tour to the mainland.
When it was learnt their opponents of the following day had been forced to cancel due to a waterlogged Porthleven pitch, it looked as if costly air/road travel, plus Truro accommodation, had been just for the one match.
The tour was saved, however, by Dynamo Choughs, who were lent some island players after sportingly agreeing to a return affair on the Sunday. Their generosity was rewarded by a 3-6 defeat.

Man of the tour was St Mary's youngster Daniel Evans who was on target twice in each match.
Dynamos hope to visit Scilly in the early summer where they will find the smallest league (two teams) and the smallest bauble in the world (the Lyonesse Trophy).
