Earth steps set the stage for garden amphitheatre at Trebah Gardens
With its contours now clearly visible, an amphitheatre at one of Cornwall's most spectacular gardens is taking shape.
Work on the project at Trebah Gardens near Falmouth began early last month with the aid of a mini-digger.

The structure is still more than a year from completion but the finished amphitheatre will provide seating for about 175 audience members and a stage area.
It was inspired by traditional Cornish prayer pits and will create an outdoor performance arena set in beautiful scenery.

Construction will continue throughout the winter and into early spring, with further work to follow in winter 2013-14.
Darren Dickey, head gardener, who is in charge of the scheme, said the addition to the gardens could be used for a variety of purposes, not just drama.
He said: "We expect to be ready for performances in spring/summer 2014.
"But the idea is that the space will lend itself to a lot more than performance alone, providing a resting and picnic place.
"It will provide the perfect place for garden talks as well as an ideal spot for educational groups to meet or take part in storytelling and other activities."
Nigel Burnett, a member of the gardens' committee, said he believed visitors to Trebah would appreciate the amphitheatre.
He said: "As a charity whose objective is primarily to preserve, enhance and re-create for the enjoyment of the public the gardens of Trebah, we always carefully plan and consider ideas and projects to enhance the garden, its features and plantings.
"The amphitheatre project is one we are sure will meet with much approval, will be enjoyed by our visitors and leave a wonderful legacy."
